Your privacy is central to how GenerateYours is built. This policy describes, in plain language, what information we collect and how we use it.
1. Overview
GenerateYours is a free, privacy-first collection of security and productivity tools — a password generator, passphrase generator, security question helper, case converter, slugify tool, vocabulary explorer, IQ test, and cybersecurity awareness training. We built these tools around a simple principle: your data should stay yours. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
2. Information we do not collect
Passwords, passphrases, security questions, and case-conversion inputs are generated and processed entirely inside your browser. They are never transmitted to our servers, never written to a database, and never stored by us. Your cybersecurity training quiz progress is saved locally in your browser's storage on the device you used. We do not have access to it, and it does not leave your device.
3. Contact form submissions
If you reach out through our Contact page, we collect the name, email address, subject, and message you provide. This information is sent by email to our team so we can respond to your inquiry. We use it solely to reply to you and do not add you to any marketing list. We retain the message only as long as needed to resolve your request.
4. Donations and payments
Donations are processed securely by Stripe, our payment provider. When you make a donation, payment details are handled directly by Stripe — we never see, access, or store your full card number or other sensitive payment data. Stripe provides us with transaction details such as the amount, confirmation status, and an email address if you provide one to Stripe, which we use only to acknowledge your contribution.
5. Vocabulary subscription
The Vocabulary Lessons tool offers an optional paid subscription for expanded word generation. If you subscribe, we store a record linked to your account containing your subscription status, renewal date, and the number of generations used in the current billing period — enough to apply your plan limits and manage your subscription. Payment for the subscription is processed by Stripe under the terms above. You can cancel your subscription at any time from within the app.
6. Analytics and advertising
We use measurement tools, including Google's advertising and analytics services, to understand how the site is used and to measure the effectiveness of our outreach. These tools may collect anonymous usage data such as page visits and general location. Google may use this data and serve ads based on prior visits to our site or other sites. You can manage personalized advertising through Google's Ads Settings and can opt out of personalized ads at any time.
7. Accounts
Most GenerateYours tools work without any account or login. Where an account is needed — for example, to manage a paid vocabulary subscription — we store your email address and the subscription details described above. You can request that we close your account and remove the associated data at any time by contacting us.
8. Cookies and local storage
We use browser storage to remember your preferences (such as selected options in the tools) and to save your cybersecurity training progress on your device. Our analytics and advertising partners may set cookies to provide their services. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings; note that disabling cookies may affect how some features work.
9. Third-party services
We rely on trusted third parties to operate the site, including Stripe for payments, Google for analytics and advertising, and our hosting platform. Each of these services has its own privacy practices governing the data they process. We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
10. Children's privacy
GenerateYours is a general-purpose utility and education site and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
11. Data retention
We keep the information we collect only as long as necessary for the purposes described here — to respond to your message, provide a service you requested, or comply with legal obligations. Contact messages are retained only as long as needed to resolve your inquiry. Subscription records are kept while your subscription is active and for a reasonable period after it ends.
12. Your rights and choices
You can use most GenerateYours tools without providing any personal information. Where we do hold information about you, you may request access to it, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it by contacting us. You can also manage cookies and personalized advertising through your browser and Google's settings, and you can cancel a paid subscription at any time.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our tools or for legal reasons. When we do, we'll update the 'last updated' date at the top of this page. Material changes will be noted on the site. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
